Episode 1 - The Woman in the Woods[]

In their very first episode, professional paranormal investigators Grace and Anton investigate the mystery of a disappearing corpse in a haunted forest that’s so spectacularly spookifying, you’ll forever think twice before wandering off for a pee in the woods. Especially if you're in Upstate New York.

— Episode description

Episode 1 was released on March 17 and starts the podcast with the case of the missing body.

After making sure the recording is on, Grace and Anton greet the audience and briefly talk about their podcast. In honor of the first episode, Grace presents a mysterious and bizarre case: six teens have gone into the woods rumored to be haunted when one of the them got separated from the group and stumbled upon the corpse of a woman. The group ran away in a panic, but when they returned to the woods with the police, they found no body or drag marks, as if there was no corpse at all. Grace also adds that the incident took place in Upstate New York, Hackett Woods, which was originally a large quarry, but it is now a privately owned land.

Anton is skeptical of the story and suggests that either the body was dragged away by bears or the kids made up the story to take the heat off when the landowners called the police. Grace denies these theories and assumes that the body was indeed eaten, but by an unknown creature. Anton refuses to believe this without any proof, so Grace suggests that she contact the boy, who posted a reaction to the body, and learn the whole story from him. Anton decides to end the episode as he is already exhausted from Grace's theories and the duo says goodbye to the audience. Thinking the tape is off, the couple begins discussing the episode when Anton notices that the tape is still running and turns it off for real.

Episode 2 - The Boy Who Cried Bigfoot[]

Grace and Anton go deeper into the conspiracy of the vanishing corpse. Could it be the work of a famous CELEBRITY? That’s right – we’re talking Bigfoot and his cryptid coterie! Plus, we’ll take a deep dive into Mr. S. Quatch’s habits, smells and dating preferences, including rumors of his romantic relationships with cows.

Episode 2 was released on April 6 and touches on the involvement of cryptids in the case of the missing body.

The audience is greeted by Grace and Anton, after which the former, briefly recounting the first episode, says that she managed to contact the boy who found the body. In his message, he is convinced that the body is real and worries if there really is something in the woods that kills people, as his girlfriend goes to a summer camp near this place. Pointing to the phrase "something," Grace mentions cryptids, particularly Bigfoot, and the duo begins to speculate about his history and habits, which again leads them to the topic of the missing corpse.

Also touching on another cryptid, Nix, Grace begins joking that she would rather date Bigfoot than Nix, but she is not his type as he prefers cows more. Anton becomes disgusted, but Grace keeps saying that maybe Bigfoot romanced the cow and so was born the sheep squatch, who could commit murder. The duo decides to end the episode, as Anton wants to quickly forget about Bigfoot romancing the cow and the sheep squatch, but before that Grace says she will check on all the missing women from Upstate New York on the day the boy claimed to have found the body to make sure the story is not made up.

Episode 3 - Missing, Presumed Dead[]

This mystery is a puzzling peach of perplexity and we're taking another bite! Grace and Anton have identified the vanishing body! And they have some theories about what… or whoOOooOOooOOoo is behind their death. Hop aboard, buckle up, and let them take you for a mind-boggling trip on the ghost train!

— Episode description

Episode 3 was released on April 28 and reveals the identity of the missing body, as well as touches on the involvement of ghosts in the case.

The audience as usual is greeted by Grace and Anton , after which the former tells Anton to get ready as she managed to find out the identity of the missing corpse. It turns out to be Anne Radcliff who, along with Ed Benson (whose identity is revealed later in the episode), were hikers missing in Upstate New York. According to the article found, the wildlife expert believes the hikers were killed by animals or more likely felt victims of other dangers of wilderness, although the relatives of the missing don't believe this, as the hikers were seasoned and knew what they were doing.

Anton says that even professionals can't avoid tragedy and they don't know for sure if the hikers are missing specifically at Hackett Woods. Grace agrees with this, but is still convinced that the murder isn't the work of anything natural and mentions the cryptids from the last episode. Anton counteracts this argument by saying that cryptids are also animals and therefore couldn't have committed murder, and suggests that the hikers got lost in the woods causing Ed to kill Anne in a panic. However, Grace disagrees with that, saying that it was ghosts who committed the murder and puts forward a theory: some vengeful ghost killed Anne and snatched Ed into "another dimension" and then snatched Anne's body as well after her body was found by the teens. Anton refuses to believe this and says that the missing body can be explained by anything but the ghosts. Grace agrees that this doesn't sound plausible, but decides to find out more facts about ghosts if this theory could still be true, after which the duo says goodbye to the audience.

Episode 4 - Hangry for Revenge[]

The case of the missing corpse takes an unexpected twist, Grace and Anton explore what makes vengeful spirits so absolutely brimming with venge, and rumoured sightings of a hag in Upstate New York's Hackett Woods pique the pair's interest.

— Episode description

Episode 4 was released on May 19 and reveals more facts about ghosts.

The audience is greeted as usual by Grace and Anton, although this time Grace sounds wistful while Anton, on the contrary, is more optimistic. He goes on energetically talking about updates on the case of the missing body and gets Grace to admit that the story about the body was made up by the boy to scare his girlfriend. Although Grace admits that there was no body, she says that this does not cancel the fact that the hikers are missing and that ghosts can be involved, making excuses that there are many cases of people disappearing without a trace.

Grace makes Anton go through some ghost stories and Anton reveals that they all involve the hitchhiking hag or the white lady. This leads Grace to conclude that there is a type of ghost who appears to different people in different forms. Going further, Grace says she found out that such stories involve vengeful female spirits. One story, however, is different from the others: according to is, one man was so concerned that his wife might cheat on him while he was at war that he locked her in the basement. Unfortunately, he died in the battlefield, and while many believe his wife died of starvation, others believe that she, on the contrary, began to eat herself and died of blood loss. This led Grace to the theory that it was a special type of spirit, among them the hitchhiker, who drowned herself after learning that her husband left her for another woman. After Anton asks what this has to do with the missing hikers, Grace replies that she has heard rumors of a white lady appearing at Hackett Woods and says she wants to go there on a 'ghost hunt'. The duo says goodbye to the audience and the episode ends with a Peanut Butter Butterpops commercial.

Episode 5 - No Hoax Without Fire[]

Grace visits Upstate New York in search of The Hag of Hackett's Quarry, heads into the haunted woods to make a red-hot discovery, and does such an awesome impression of Anton you'd swear he was there! But he wasn't, because he sucks.

— Episode description

Episode 5 was released on June 2 and shows Grace's trip to Hackett Woods in search of ghosts.

The audience is greeted by Grace alone, as she went to Hackett Woods while Anton stayed home. Grace tries to check in at the Harbinger Motel and while waiting for the receptionist, she talks about her plans to learn more about the local ghost story. Suddenly, Grace hears someone approach, causing her to turn off the tape. Grace turns the recording on after she checks in at the motel. She comments on her room and says she learned from the desk clerk that a traveling sideshow came to town six years ago and there was a fire in which everyone died. Grace also comments that the clerk was rather weird as he didn't want to talk about the fire, but he did have to, whereupon, after sharing her plans for the morning, Grace goes to bed.

The next morning, Grace continues to talk about the fire, explaining that it occurred on private land, owned by the same family that owns the wood, although the clerk couldn't or wouldn't tell her about it. Grace also finds it strange that the hermit family has set up a summer camp on their land, unless it is to sacrifice children to ghosts, although this is immediately disproved by the investigations that have begun. Grace comments that the clerk apparently hasn't told her everything about the family and plans to squeeze out the information from it, but for now, she wants to go to the township and learn more about the fire, after which she turns off the tape again. After a trip to the township, Grace says she was right and the local ghost lady legend is based on the freak show fire and is known as "The Hag of the Hackett's Quarry." She is going to tell the story, but decides to leave it for the next episode. Grace says she will set up camp in the woods and try to catch the hag.

As the sun sets and night falls, Grace says she has set up camp at the edge of the woods and comments on the creepy atmosphere. Grace confesses that she misses Anton and imagines what it would be like if he were here when she hears rustling outside the tent, causing a frightened Grace to go out to see. It turns out to be a squirrel and although at first Grace says that there is definitely something in the woods and they will soon find it, she cannot stand the atmosphere and, admitting that she is scared, packs her things and leaves the woods. The episode ends with a Peanut Butter Butterpops commercial.

Episode 6 - The Hag of Hackett's Quarry[]

WTF...is happening in Hackett's Quarry. Listen to the final episode of our 6-part video-podcast series. You won't believe what you'll become.

— Episode description

Episode 6 was released on June 17 and ends the podcast with the story of "The Hag of Hackett's Quarry".

The audience is again greeted by Grace and Anton. Grace raises the intrigue by asking Anton what the creepy woods, the traveling show, and the fire have in common. The answer turns out to be the story of "The Hag of Hackett's Quarry," which Grace learned from locals in the town of North Kill. According to the story, a long time ago, a traveling freak show called "Harum Scarum" stayed at Hackett Woods, but on opening night some hay bales caught fire, causing the whole place to burn to the ground. Among the dead were the show's crew, several visitors, the old sheriff of the town, and the owner of the show. It is said that the owner adopted a child (referred to as baby boy since his age is unknown) who worked in his mother's show as one of the freaks and was known as "Silas the dog boy".  Rumors also state that the owner died in a fire looking for her son, while Silas' body was never found. Legend says that the ghost of the woman still roams the woods to this day trying to find her child, and people can hear the sounds of burning trees and the woman's yearning whispers.

Anton doesn't believe this story and thinks that the landowners made it up to scare outsiders away, but Grace replies that these same owners have a summer camp nearby and it's not profitable for them to scare children away. Anton asks Grace to scare him some more, to which she happily agrees and plays him the recording she made in the woods. The recording contains the usual sounds of nature, so Anton obviously doesn't believe Grace's words that there is a ghost but has been hiding from her. Grace says she has shown everything she has prepared and the duo says goodbye to the audience, acknowledging the story of "The Hag of Hackett's Quarry" for now bizarre, but not bonafide. The episode ends with a Peanut Butter Butterpops commercial.

Extra Episode[]

After completing the game, an additional podcast episode plays during the credits, which is done in a "show and tell" format. In this episode, Grace and Anton receive an anonymous package, opening which they find all the evidence found by the player. The duo comments on each find individually and ultimately concludes that the events at Hackett's Quarry turned out to be typically tragedy or it is a bizarre yet bonafide case.
