The Box of Matches is a clue in the Hackett History clue collection. It can be found by Emma on the Island during Chapter 4 of The Quarry. Written on the box of matches is an advertisement for the Harbinger Motel, so it may have been possible Laura and Max stayed there prior to Laura's planned attack to cure Max and after their escape from the North Kill sheriff's office.

When Emma heads towards the wooden staircase to the tree house, the player will have the option to go up the stairs or continue along the main dirt path. To find this clue, have Emma walk along the dirt path. Emma will eventually find a small campfire and the box of matches will be directly next to the campfire.
