Halston Jean Sage (born May 10, 1993) is an American actress. She is known for her roles as Grace on the Nickelodeon television series How to Rock, Amber on the NBC television series Crisis, Lacey on Paper Towns, Lt. Alara Kitan on the Fox television series The Orville, and Ainsley Whitly on the Fox television series Prodigal Son.
She voiced and motion captured the role of Emma Mountebank in the game The Quarry.
Early Life[]
Halston Sage was born on May 10, 1993, in California. Her parents are Thema and Lenny Schrage. Sage has two younger siblings, a brother Max and a sister Kate. She rode horses competitively for eight years, and was the editor of her high school's newspaper.
Career[]
Sage's career took off in 2011 when she was cast as Grace on the Nickelodeon series How to Rock. She has also guest starred on Nickelodeon's Victorious and Bucket & Skinner's Epic Adventures. In February 2013, Sage was cast in the short-lived NBC television thriller series Crisis, playing Amber. In 2016 she was cast in a starring role as Alara Kitan on the science-fiction drama-comedy series The Orville. However, in January 2019, Sage left the cast of The Orville, though her departure was considered open-ended for a possible return in the future.
Besides television series, Sage has starred in numerous films such as The First Time, Goosebumps, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse and Neighbors. For the latter, Sage was a nominee for the MTV Movie Award "Best Kiss" for her onscreen kiss with Rose Byrne.
In 2022, Sage starred in the horror video game The Quarry, where she voiced and motion captured the character Emma.
