Movie Mode is a different mode that is able to be played in The Quarry. It allows players to watch the game play out without having to play the game themselves, like a movie. Choice prompts will no longer appear on screen, and QTEs and Interrupts will automatically be hit (or not hit, depending on the style on game you pick). Movie Mode is only unlocked after the game is beaten the first time.
Styles[]
There are several styles of movies you can pick that will alter the movie's events.
Everyone Lives[]
As the name suggests, in this version of the movie, everyone is guaranteed to be alive by the end of the story.
Everyone Dies[]
The opposite of Everyone Lives, which all protagonists and some characters are guaranteed to die by the end of the story.
Gorefest[]
The gorefest style is only available in the Deluxe version of the game. It is similar to Everyone Dies, however the game picks the goriest and most violent ways for the characters to die.
Director's Chair[]
This style is unique, as it allows the player to choose character attributes, and will change the story based on which attributes were picked. There are four main attributes:
When under pressure, [character] will be: This decides how well the character will be able to hit QTEs. The player can set it as three different attributes, being Adept, Erratic, or Clumsy. Setting a character to Adept will make them always hit QTEs, while set to Clumsy they almost never hit QTEs. Erratic is a mix of the two.
In conversation, [character] will be: This decides whether or not the character will pick nicer or meaner dialogue options. The player can set it as three different attributes, being Sympathetic, Inconsistent, or Antagonistic. Sympathetic is the nicer options, Antagonistic is the meaner options, and Inconsistent is a mix.
In fight or flight situations, [character] will be: This decides how well a character can pass Don't Breathe segments. The player can set it as three different attributes, being Composed, Conflicted, or Flustered. A Composed character always passes them, Flustered characters usually fail them, and Conflicted is a mix.
While looking around, [character] will be: This decides how often a character will find things such as clues or evidence. The player can set it as three different attributes, being Vigilant, Distracted, or Oblivious. Vigilant characters will find almost everything, Oblivious characters will find almost nothing, and Distracted characters are a mix.
